The Game of Snooker

As snooker table suppliers, we have a wealth of knowledge about our products and the game itself. For those of you just starting to get into the game of snooker, you may not know that it originated in the second half of the 19th century, from British Army officers stationed in India. Traditionally, the play consists of using a rectangular table covered with a green cloth, also known as baize. Using the snooker cue, players must pot the coloured balls into the pockets of the table, at the four corner points and two middle points in each length of the table. Play starts by striking the white cue ball, and points are accumulated by pocketing the balls in the correct sequence, with the winning player being the one who has scored the highest number of points.

Snooker Tables Sizes

A full-sized snooker table will be rounded up to 12 feet in length, and for practical reasons involving the way the game is played, means that there are less options when it comes to the size of snooker tables (when compared to pool tables). A snooker traditionally uses 22 balls (twenty-one coloured balls, and the white cue ball), the tables need to be big enough to accommodate the game how it is usually played. On the other hand, playing pool only requires 8 balls, so a smaller table is possible. Here at Cue Power, we offer a 10-foot table in addition to the 12-foot option. When thinking about installing such a grand table into a given space, whether your home or a venue, it is important to consider which size would work best. For this, you must take into account the need for players to also have sufficient space to move around the table with their long snooker cues.

Snooker Table Price

A 10-foot snooker table will cost you £13,499, whilst the larger option is priced at £13,999. This £500 price difference is due to the additional two feet of snooker table. Our Sam Tagora snooker tables are available in either a mahogany or solid oak finish. Prices include VAT, and would be just £11,249.17 or £11,665.83 respectively, with the VAT excluded.
